Caio Di Palma

He received his PhD in Materialities of Literature at the University of Coimbra with funding from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). His research focuses on post-Auschwitz aesthetic theory, metaphysical poetry and contemporary Portuguese literature. In his doctoral thesis (2020), he investigated the poetic reason of the metaphysical poet José Ángel Valente in the light of reflections on art and anthropology, aesthetics and gestuality, the act of writing and inscription techniques, poetic word and its architectures (matriz geradora, logos seminal, logos espermático, palabra inicial, resto cantable). He holds a Master’s Degree in Portuguese Literature from Universidade Federal Fluminense (2012) with a dissertation on the Portuguese writer Maria Gabriela Llansol, whose work he analysed from a Deleuzian and Spinozian perspective.
