Manaíra Aires Athayde

Manaíra Aires Athayde is a researcher in the Centre for Portuguese Literature (CLP) at the University of Coimbra, where she also obtained a PhD in Materialities of Literature, funded by a Capes doctoral scholarship. Visiting scholar at the Department of Iberian and Latin American Cultures (ILAC) at Stanford University (2019-2021), California, and visiting professor at the University of Salamanca (2015-2017). Recipient of the Mário Quartin Graça Prize 2018, awarded by the House of Latin America in Portugal for the best PhD thesis in the area of Humanities (Ruy Belo and Brazilian Modernism. Poetry, Archive, 2017). Since 2019, she has been a visiting professor in the Graduate Programme in Literary Studies at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). She edited Literatura Explicativa: Ensaios sobre Ruy Belo (Assírio & Alvim, 2015) and was part of the production team for the documentary Ruy Belo, era uma vez (RTP, 2014).
