Literary Paths in the MATLIT LAB: A Humanities Laboratory

On March 6, 2019, at 10 am, in the main room of the Centre for Portuguese Literature (7th floor) of the School of Arts and Humanities at the University of Coimbra, the exhibition “Literary Paths in the MATLIT LAB: A Laboratory of Humanities” is inaugurated. This exhibition was curated by Francisco Silveira, Nuno Meireles, Patrícia Reina, Pedro Sá Valentim and Thales Estefani. In addition to a selection of literary creations produced in the PhD Programme in Materialities of Literature, the exhibition includes a series of poster poems by the Brazilian poet Augusto de Campos (FLUC atrium, 4th floor) and a performance by Nuno Meireles (CLP, 6 March, 12 noon and 5 pm). The exhibition marks the launch of MATLIT LAB and will be open from 10 am to 6 pm on March 6, 7 and 8, 2019. This event, which is sponsored by the 21st Cultural Week of the University of Coimbra, is organized by the FCT PhD Programme in Materialities of Literature and the Centre Portuguese Literature.

The exhibition shows the literary paths that are being explored within the PhD in Materialities of Literature. Indicators of the current context of digital redefinition of the humanities include: materialities of sound, voice, performance, image, book, writing, and the digital materialities of contemporary literary practices and forms.
